Ty'n-y-Morfa Farm Cottages were originally part of an old working farm, that dates back to the 1700's. The Welsh folk at that time named the farm - Ty'n-y-Morfa (Pronounced Tin-uh-Morrva) which literally translated from Weslh means "House in the Marsh". The actual village of Tyn-y-Morfa was subsequently named after the farm itself. The three Cottages set amidst a courtyard have been tastefully renovated to a high standard and are fully equipped to cater for all modern requirements.
The Cottages still retain their rustic charm and include original features
such as inglenook fireplaces and oak beams. Each Cottage has been comfortably
furnished to suit its unique character. The Farm is situated 2.5 miles from
Prestatyn and only yards from approx. 5 miles of sandy beach. Along this stretch
of sand lies the famous Talacre Lighthouse, which was built around the same
time as the cottages. The coastline also forms part of the RSPB bird sanctuary
and is noted for its waders and terns.
Within a five minute stroll of the Cottages, Tyn-y-Morfa Farm also has a licensed horse riding centre - Bridlewood. This purpose built stable yard can provide carefully selected ponies and horse to suit all standards. For complete beginners lessons can be given at any one of the 3 sanded arenas.
